Local Activities
Enjoy something for everyone
Being in the centre of Ireland makes us an ideal base to head out and enjoy a host of local activities. Whatever age you are, however old you act, Tullamore and the surrounding countryside present all sorts of challenges for the adventurous spirit. What’s more, the mountain terrain, natural plains and feisty waters provide natural opportunities for a range of other exciting activities. If you find one you like the look of, we can organise an activity on your behalf. Simply let us know what you’d like to do and how many of you will be doing it and we’ll take it from there.

Tullamore D.E.W Visitor Centre
Located at Bury Quay, the Tullamore D.E.W Visitor Centre is one of Ireland’s greatest heritage attractions housed within the original 1897 Bonded Warehouse. The exhibition relates the story of the town’s development, focusing on the Grand Canal, Tullamore D.E.W Whiskey and Irish Mist Liqueur.
Visitors can wander through the various recreated working stations that were at the distillery such as malting, bottling or cooperage areas and learn how the whiskey was made. At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy a complimentary whiskey tasting.

Here in Offaly, we’re proud to have the Irish Parachute Club based in our county. If you’ve never jumped from a plane at 13, 000ft then you haven’t truly lived. At the Irish Parachute Club in Clonbullogue, Edenderry, they have a selection of ways to get you started. Their highly qualified instructors will help you achieve the first jump. On a tandem skydive you are secured to an instructor and skydive up to 13,000 feet. Freefall will last approximately 45 seconds before the giant canopy made for two is opened at 5, 000ft. Whether it’s an individual day out or a corporate team building activity you are looking for, then why not ‘take a parachute and jump’.
