The Gathering Ireland 2013 is about the people of Ireland throwing open our arms and inviting anyone with a connection to our country to come and visit. It’s about asking anyone who has Irish blood, a link to Ireland or even just a lover of the country - to join us for a series of amazing and diverse events throughout the year.

Offaly Naturalists' Field Club Programme 2013

The full field club programme will come out in March 2013 but the advance notice is for the Biodiversity Summer School with John Feehan which will be from Monday 1st July to Friday 5th July and will be on the theme of the Slieve Blooms.

National Ploughing Championships 2013

Tuesday 24th September - Thursday 26th September 2013

The Annual National Ploughing Championships celebrates its 80th birthday this September. The event promises everything of former years with some extras on September 20th through 22nd.
Ploughing has a long history in Ireland but the competition originated from a challenge between a Kildare and Wexford man as to who had the most prowess in the field with a plough.

Tullamore Show 2013

The Tullamore Show is a family event which has something for everyone. Agriculture was originally the Show's main focus but this has broadened considerably to promote an enhanced awareness and positive appreciation of our heritage, traditions and way of life.
It’s success has ensured its position as one of Ireland's Premier Shows and the programme of events incorporates many elements including livestock, equestrian, home industries, inventions, vintage, fashion, style and performing arts.

The trade exhibition area alone will feature over 550 trade stands, covering all areas of interest, from agriculture, home, garden, food & machinery. For the kids, there will be Amusements, a Monster bouncing slide, game and a gig rig providing musical entertainment throughout the day.
