Athlone Golf Club

Athlone Golf Club was founded in 1892 making it one of the longest established clubs in the country.

This is a mature parkland course of exceptional quality and beauty, which has been host to many important championships including the National Finals of the Cups and Shields in 1998.

Beautifully designed, the course exploits the natural splendour of its surroundings, surrounded on three sides by Lough Ree, with panoramic views of the lake and its wooded islands from the Clubhouse. Its tree-lined fairways and undulating terrain make it a true test of golf.

There is an excellent golf shop and catering facilities available at this prestigious club.

A three year redevelopment of the course was completed in 2006. This included the construction of all sand based greens and tees to USGA standard plus a number of new greens and water features.

A spectacular variety of golf shots offers a demanding but fair test for the most accomplished golfer!!
